Stress Angel knows how to be darker than dark, blacker than black, and more evil than evil. They are the perfect band representing the deepest pits of metal underground. On top of it all, they have a very wicked sense of humor that is present in their recordings and live performances.
Punished by Nemesis continues the journey the band had started with Bursting Church back in 2021. The new album is just as heavy, and just as evil sounding. Yet, you also feel a certain level of progression present. They simply do it better this time around.
Stress Angel is made up of two members, Manny Sores on drums and vocals, and Nicolai Orifice on guitars and keyboards. Between the two of them Stress Angel gets its wings and soars. Both are very easy-going guys who like to drink beer, have fun, and play heavy music. And without trying too hard, they achieve magic. Stress Angel definitely has a distinctive style, and their riffing and drum patterns are unique.
Punished by Nemesis is a heavy record, uncompromising in its approach, and full of dark textures. There is a specific mood one gets while listening to it. In some ways, it feels like a séance. The album’s impression is strong and lasting, and that’s what makes it so excellent! In other. words, you know there are multiple spins awaiting you.
