This is a great power metal release. Brainstorm became a really superb band over the years. The band found a way to develop heaviness out of just about any available melody. Add big and catchy choruses to the mix, and you get a winning formula.
Wall of Skulls is filled with plenty of great songs. It’s a great listen all the way through. The band has an obvious style of delivery, and they rock each track inside out. Plenty of lead brakes, tempo changes, and punchy rhythms. This is definitely an album offering, and it should be enjoyed as such.
Bands like Brainstorm certainly keep the power metal alive and healthy. Wall of Skulls is a state of the art release. The album is beautifully written and assembled. The production is very clear and audible, but it’s down to the quality of the songs that elevate this album above the norm. There are plenty metal bands these days that are doing great things, and Brainstorm can definitely be a group you can depend on.
